Stella Karas Skaljac

Stella Karas Skaljac enthusiastically joined Pierce Stronczer as an attorney focused on employment and labor law in 2006.
She is involved in all aspects of the firm’s employment law practice and defends management against employment-related claims.

Stella’s primary focus is counseling employers on a wide range of employment issues, including matters of hiring, discipline and termination, non-compete and confidentiality agreements, wage-hour compliance, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Her practice also centers on defending employers against discrimination charges arising in federal and state courts and administrative agencies. In addition, Stella enjoys assisting employers in maintaining a proactive approach to human resource management and speaking on employment law topics such as writing the employee handbook and preventing sexual harassment in the workplace.

Stella graduated cum laude from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1997 with a double major in Human Resource Management and Organizational Behaviors. She was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority and participated in a study abroad program at an international university in London, England. While in law school, Stella studied in Crete, Greece and took a class taught by the United States Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Stella also received the CALI Award for Excellent Achievement in Workers’ Compensation.

Stella’s background in human resources, sales and as a mother of active young boys makes her especially well-suited to helping employers balance their legal duties and business strategies. Representing employers is her passion.
